Turkish-Tailor-Made Laotian-Fabric Clothes

I bought some handwoven fabric while I was in Laos this Christmas, and this spring, brought it to a Turkish tailor in Kizilay to have some clothes made. My friend, Kivanc, came with me, and also had some things made. It was a fun process of multiple visits- designing, fitting and picking up the finished product. The fabric I bought was special: Laotian women wore them as wrap-around skirts on special holidays or religious days. I had the tailor add an elephant to further remind me of my trip.
